Cost & Estimates

How much does a new roof cost in NC?

It depends on your roof, so we don’t quote one number for every home. Size, pitch, number of layers to tear off, decking repairs, ventilation and the shingle you choose all change the price. For a ballpark on your own home, use our free instant roof estimate, then we confirm the price after a free on-site inspection.

Roof Repair vs. Replacement

Should I repair or replace my roof?

It depends on the roof’s age, how widespread the damage is and the condition of the decking underneath. Isolated damage on a roof in good shape can usually be repaired. Widespread wear, repeated leaks or extensive storm damage often make replacement the better long-term value. After inspecting your roof, we will explain your options honestly.

How do I know if my roof is leaking?

Look for water stains or bubbling paint on ceilings, damp or dark spots in the attic, drips after heavy rain, and missing or lifted shingles or loose flashing outside. If you see any of these, call for a free inspection; small leaks spread into decking and insulation quickly.

How often should my roof be inspected?

We recommend an inspection about once a year and after any major storm. Regular roof maintenance catches small issues like loose shingles or worn flashing before they turn into leaks and costly repairs.

What do your inspections cover?

Our inspections cover your whole exterior: roof, fascia, soffit, siding, flashing and leaks. We check shingles, flashing, vents and the roof edge, look over fascia boards, soffits and siding for storm, wind or hail damage, and trace any leaks to their source. We show you photos of what we find, and we can take care of any damage we find. Inspections are free.

Storm Damage & Insurance Claims

How do I know if my roof has storm damage?

Common signs include missing, creased or lifted shingles, granules collecting in gutters, dented vents or flashing, and new leaks or ceiling stains after high winds or hail. Many damage signs are hard to see from the ground, so a professional inspection is the safest way to know. Please do not climb on your roof yourself.

What should I do right after a storm damages my roof?

Make sure everyone is safe, take photos of any visible damage from the ground, protect belongings from leaks, and call us for an inspection. If you plan to file a claim, contact your insurance company promptly and keep records of any temporary repairs.

What should I do if a tornado damaged my roof?

First make sure everyone is safe, stay out of any structure that may be unsafe and keep away from downed power lines. When it is safe, take photos from the ground, protect belongings from rain if you can, contact your insurance company and call Salvation Roofing at (919) 628-3285. Tornadoes can tear off shingles and decking and cause debris damage, so we will inspect the roof, document what we find and prepare an estimate. Your insurer decides coverage.

Does homeowners insurance cover roof replacement in NC?

Sometimes. It depends on your policy and the cause of the damage. Sudden damage from storms, wind, hail or falling trees is often covered, while normal wear and aging usually is not. Your insurance company makes every coverage decision; we can inspect, photograph and document the damage and give you an estimate to share with them.

Can you help with my roof insurance claim?

Yes — with insurance claim assistance from our roofing crew. We inspect your roof for storm damage, take detailed photos and prepare a repair estimate you can share with your insurance company to document the damage. With your permission, we can be at the adjuster’s inspection to point out the damage we documented. Your insurance company makes all coverage and approval decisions; we are not public adjusters and do not negotiate or settle claims.

The Roofing Process

How long does a roof replacement take?

Most residential roof replacements take one to three days once work starts. Timing depends on the size and pitch of the roof, the amount of decking that needs replacing and the weather. We will give you an expected schedule with your estimate.

Do you clean up after the job?

Yes. We protect your lawn and landscaping with tarps during the project and clean up debris and nails before we leave. We treat every home like our own.

Gutters, Fences & Our Company

Do you install gutters?

Yes. We install custom-measured gutters sized for your home so rainwater is carried away from your roof, siding and foundation. Gutters can be added during a roof replacement or installed on their own.

Do you install fences?

Yes. Along with roofing and gutters, we build quality, long-lasting fences for privacy, safety and curb appeal. Ask about fence installation when you request your free estimate.

Is Salvation Roofing a local company?
